How to Update Your Sonicorbiter 3.0 Software to the Latest Version

Once your Sonore Rendu is running Sonicorbiter 3.0, updating to the latest version happens right from your browser using Software Manager. Here's how, in four steps.

Still on Sonicorbiter 2.9? These steps are for players already running 3.0. Moving from 2.9 to 3.0 requires a new microSD card — see Your Rendu Just Got a New Operating System for your options.

1Go to sonicorbiter.com

On a computer, tablet, or smartphone connected to the same network as your Rendu, go to sonicorbiter.com.

2Click Manage Device

Under the Network Players section, find your player and click Manage device.

3Open Software Manager

On your player's page, click Software Manager under Tools.

Software Manager shows five things to note:

Sonicorbiter Software Manager showing current version, available version with update available, active slot, and the Install button
Software Manager with an update available.
  1. Current Version — the software version currently on your Sonore Rendu.
  2. Available Version — the latest software version available for your Sonore Rendu.
  3. Update available — if the Available Version is newer than your Current Version, an “update available” note will appear.
  4. Active Slot (A or B) — the latest version will always be used, but we now keep a backup of your previous version.
  5. Install 3.X.XX — click this button to install. You'll need to click twice: Install, then Confirm.

4Let the update finish

The latest update will download, install, and reboot your player. This may take several minutes to complete. Once it's done, Software Manager will look like this:

Sonicorbiter Software Manager after a successful update, showing the player up to date with the previous version in the other slot
Software Manager after a successful update.
  1. Current Version matches the Available Version and shows that your Sonore Rendu is “up to date.”
  2. Active Slot contains your latest version, and Other Slot contains your previous version.
  3. Last attempt shows that the update was a success.

That's it — your Sonore Rendu Series Network Player is now up to date.
