Thank you for purchasing a sonicTransporter from Small Green Computer. Today we are introducing a new operating system for it, Sonicoribter OS v3.
Note: This purchase will involve you sending your sonicTransporter Music Server to Small Green Computer to upgrade. You are responsible for shipping charges to and from Small Green Computer. The shipping charges include in the purchase only include the shipment from Small Green Computer back to you.

Version 3 is a ground-up rebuild of the operating system your music server runs on: a new platform, a new web interface, and a considerably larger set of server applications. The main advantages of the v3 upgrade include:
MUSIC SERVER APPLICATIONS
- Roon Core (RoonServer), The sonicTransporter is Roon Server certified.
- Plex Media Server
- Lyrion Music Server (LMS) 9.1.1
- HQPlayer Embedded 6.1, plus HQPTuner as an alternative interface alongside the standard one.
- Audirvana Studio 3.3.4, controlled from the free Audirvana Remote app for iOS and Android
- Gerbera UPnP/DLNA media server
- SonoreUPnP Bridge (Roon or Squeezebox to a UPnP/DLNA renderer)
- CD Import, which rips an inserted CD to FLAC on Internal Storage and ejects it
- Tailscale for private remote access, including Roon ARC, with no port forwarding required.
AUDIO OUTPUT AND DAC HANDLING
- HDMI audio output, new in 3.0. Separate controls make the HDMI card available to Roon, HQPlayer and Audirvana, and select where the player sends audio.
- DAC Diagnostics, showing live stream format and bit depth along with every volume control your DAC exposes and which one is currently in use
- Bluetooth speaker output, with pairing that persists across updates
STORAGE
- Drive Bay support for the sonicTransporter's second internal drive slot, with mount, unmount and format controls
- Internal Storage, a fixed-size partition presented like a drive, with the size chosen when you enable it
- USB drive automount for ext4, exFAT and NTFS read-write, and HFS+ read-only, with an automatic repair-and-retry before any failure is reported
- SMB / Samba sharing, so every mounted drive appears in Windows and macOS file browsers
NEW WEB INTERFACE
- A rebuilt interface where settings apply live, with no Save buttons
- Diagnostics, System Status and Network Check
- Translated to eleven languages
UPDATES AND RELIABILITY
- A/B update slots with test boot and automatic rollback. A new image boots once, and if it fails or hangs, the unit returns to the previous version on its own.
- Signed HTTPS over-the-air updates. The unit checks hourly, but installing an update is always a click in the interface, never automatic.
- A read-only root filesystem with a separate persistent partition, so your settings and installed applications survive every update
SPECIFICS
Prior to shipping your sonicTransporter to Small Green Computer, please make certain you have a current backup of your entire database and music files. You will need this backup to restore your files after the upgrade is complete. Once your invoice is paid, we will provide instructions on where to ship your sonicTransporter for the upgrade.
